To recall, the Coolpad Note 3 was launched in October last year at the same price - Rs. 8,999 - but earlier this month received a minor price cut to Rs. 8,499, evidently in anticipation of the launch of the Coolpad Note 3 Plus variant. It launched the basic variant of the smartphone, the Coolpad Note 3 Lite, in January.

Google Going to Officially Launch Play Store Carrier Billing With idea Cellular in India

Google is finally Going to launch carrier billing on the Play Store in India. The new payment option on the Play Store will first be available only to subscribers of Idea Cellular. Gadgets 360 has learnt that the official announcement will be made at a press event later this week. An Idea representative confirmed the company is getting ready to send invites for the event, where it will announce carrier billing for the Play Store. Gadgets 360 understands Google representatives will also be present at the event.

Google of course plans to bring carrier billing to other operators as well, but for now, the new payment option will be available only to subscribers of the country's third-biggest mobile operator. "We are in the process of adding direct carrier billing to Google Play in India on Idea Cellular so that people can more easily pay for their favourite content. We will have more news to share soon," a Google representative told Gadgets 360 via an emailed statement.

Carrier billing, or the ability to pay for your purchases via your telecom account - prepaid or postpaid - is considered by some to be the key to giving the vast majority of the Indian population the ability to pay for digital content. There are a mere 25 million credit cards in the country, and just 645 million debit cards. That's a small figure compared to the 1 billion mobile phone users - with smartphone users at nearly 400 million, and continuing to grow rapidly. Google Play gift cards have tried to overcome this problem, but it's safe to say they've had limited impact. In this backdrop, integrated carrier billing suddenly makes buying an app or renting a movie on the Play Store as easy as changing your caller tune.

From a user's perspective, the way carrier billing works is pretty simple. You choose the integrated billing option while paying on Play Store. If you are a prepaid customer, a check will be done to see if you have sufficient balance to pay for what you are buying. If yes, the amount will be instantly deducted from your balance. For a postpaid customer, the item will show up in your bill at the end of the billing cycle. Typically, carrier billing is seamless, in that the operator automatically detects the number associated with the SIM in the device and levies the charge, but details of Idea's implementation should become clear later this week.

Idea seems to be already rolling out the carrier billing option to some of its subscribers, as seen on Reddit late last week. In 2014, Idea had partnered with Microsoft to become the first Indian operator to offer carrier billing on the Windows Phone store as well.

Xiaomi Mi Band 2 With Display Teased By Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun

Earlier this month, Xiamoi  came across a report stating that Xiaomi could launch the next-gen Mi Band 2 with display on May 10. Now, CEO Lei Jun has posted a photo on Weibo which shows off the upcoming Mi Band 2 with display. The first Mi Band could count steps, track sleep, whereas the Mi Band 1S got a heart rate sensor. However, a display could have been better and easier to keep a track of the activity and also look at time, and thats exactly what we can expect from the next-gen Mi Fitness Tracker

From the photo, we can see that the upcoming Mi Band has a simple display and it also looks a bit wider compared to the current model. The increase in dimensions would be to accommodate the display and a slightly larger battery to offer the same 30-day long battery life as the current generation Mi Band.

The unit also appears to come in a pod that fits inside a strap, just like the Mi Band and Mi Band 1S. Besides the display, there is a single physical button too, tapping on which could display the time and other tracking activities.

Are you guys excited for Xiaomi Mi Band 2 ?

Yu Yureka Note With 6-inch Display, Dual Speakers Launched @ Rs. 13,499

Micromax's Yu Televentures last week launched the Yu Yureka Note phablet in India, priced at Rs. 13,499. The handset is available to purchase from offline mobile stores in the region, something contrary to the company's previous plans to keep the Yu brand online only. As per the company, the phablet will deliver to users the "ultimate multimedia & gaming experience."

The Yu Yureka Note is an Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based handset that features a 6-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution display with a pixel density of 370ppi. It packs an octa-core MediaTek MTK6753T processor under-the-hood, clubbed with 3GB of RAM.

In the camera department, the Yureka Note houses a 13-megapixel sensor at the back along with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. For audiophiles, the company is also touting the inclusion of dual speakers with NXP smart PA technology as well. The phablet is also equipped with 16GB of inbuilt storage, which can be expanded via microSD card.

The Yu Yureka Note on the connectivity front supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Micro-USB connectivity. A 4000mAh battery backs the handset. Like several other handsets in the market at this price range, the Yureka Note also too features a fingerprint sensor, and is claimed to be able to unlock the phablet in less than half a second.

Talking about the design, the Yu Yureka Note appears to be a bigger version of the Yu Yunique with the similar Saturn Ring rear camera design, volume and power buttons on the right-side, and speakers at the bottom of the back panel. With a 6-inch display and dual speaker combination, the phablet focuses on those users who like to consume media, play games, and listen to music.

OnePlus One Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update in 'Final Testing Stage'

OnePlus One's Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update in 'Final Testing Stage'

OnePlus had last year revealed its Android 6.0 Marshmallow update schedule for its devices where it said that the OnePlus One running Cyanogen OS will start receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the first quarter.

Now, the company's co-founder and public face Carl Pei has confirmed that the Android Marshmallow for the OnePlus One was in the final testing stages. Unfortunately, Pei didn't reveal the exact time of arrival of Marshmallow update. He said, "Marshmallow for the One is in the final testing stage. Can't give ETA as it depends on other parties, but should be very soon."

OnePlus late last month started rolling out near final build of OxygenOS 3.0 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to the OnePlus 2 users.

The company, ahead of the official release, wanted the community's help to make sure it worked without "any remaining kinks" before the official OTA update was made available to the general public. OnePlus was seeking feedback on three aspects - Network Testing, Camera, and Performance.

The new OxygenOS 3.0 build featured a cleaner UI, easy access to different modes and settings, under the camera department. Besides a new wallpaper picker, the update also brought improvements in Shelf UX, fingerprint performance, and general system performance. There were some changes made in the Settings section as well. The old app permissions were replaced by new native Android app permissions, Alert Slider was more customisable, and the Settings Menu readability was improved. The Android security patches for March also came as a part of OxygenOS 3.0.

As expected, Meizu launched its m3 note smartphone on Wednesday. The smartphone will go on sale in China from Monday, and registrations for the first sale have begun. The smartphone has been launched in two variants, with the 2GB of RAM/ 16GB of inbuilt storage version priced at CNY 799 (roughly Rs. 8,200), and the 3GB of RAM/ 32GB storage version priced at CNY 999 (roughly Rs. 10,300).

Inbuilt storage can be supplemented by microSD storage expansion (via hybrid dual-SIM), but Meizu has not detailed the maximum supported capacity.

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Tipped With Snapdragon 823 SoC & 3D Touch Display

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Tipped to Sport Snapdragon 823 SoC, '3D Touch' Display

Xiaomi is rumoured to be working on its second-generation Mi Note smartphone. An earlier report said that the Chinese company may use Samsung-made curved Amoled display on its Mi Note 2.

Now, a new leak claims pricing details of the handset, and also suggests that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, similar to its predecessor, will pack top-notch specifications. A tipster on Weibo (via Android Headlines) claimed that the Mi Note will be priced at CNY 2,999 (roughly Rs. 31,000) which if compared to the original Mi Note is costlier. To recall, the Xiaomi Mi Note phablet launched in January 2015 was priced at CNY 2,299 (roughly Rs. 23,000) for the 16GB model, while the 64GB model came at CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 27,900).

Some of the rumoured specifications of the Mi Note 2 claim that the handset will pack either a Snapdragon 820 or a Snapdragon 823 SoC. This could also mean that the Mi Note 2 may have two variants similar to the Xiaomi Mi Note and Mi Note Pro. Other leaked details suggest 4GB of RAM; 64GB of storage; 16-megapixel Sony sensor; OIS, and a 3600mAh battery. The tipster also claims that the handset will come in a 256GB inbuilt storage model. One of the biggest highlights of the handset is said to be the '3D Touch'-inspired pressure sensitive display made popular by Apple with the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

However, all these leaks should be taken with a pinch of salt as Xiaomi has not mentioned anything about the upcoming device and the leaks legitimacy remains questionable.

The Chinese company earlier this week unveiled a variant of its Redmi 3 smartphone in China, called the Redmi 3 'Pro' or 'high version', featuring some upgrades in the memory, inbuilt storage, and sensor areas. The new Xiaomi Redmi 3 variant is priced at CNY 899 (approximately Rs. 9,000) and will be available in China next month.

In other news, Xiaomi is all set to launch the Mi 5 flagship smartphone on Thursday in India and with the launch, India will become one of the first markets with Xiaomi Mi 5 outside China.

The new Xiaomi Redmi 3 variant has been priced at CNY 899 (approximately Rs. 9,000) and will become available in China next month, with its first flash sale on April 6. To recall, the original Redmi 3 was priced at CNY 699 at launch.

As of now, there is no word on the handset's availability in other markets including India. It will be available in Gold, Grey, and Silver colours.

The new Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro features bumped RAM and storage. It also packs a fingerprint sensor which was missing on the original Redmi 3. The rest of the features and specifications of the Redmi 3 Pro are identical to the Redmi 3.

The Xiaomi Redmi 3 Pro features a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display and packs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, with four cores clocked at 1.2GHz, and four cores at 1.5GHz. The handset includes 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM, Adreno 405 GPU, as well as 32GB of inbuilt storage that's expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). The original Redmi 3 sported 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of inbuilt storage.

Much like the Redmi 3, the Redmi 3 Pro also packs a 4100mAh non-removable battery, a highlight of the device. It runs MIUI 7 though Xiaomi has not revealed the Android version on the Redmi 3 Pro. On the camera front, the Redmi 3 sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/ 2.0 aperture, PDAF autofocus, and also supports 1080p full-HD video recording. New Update In WhatsApp for Android Update Adds Quick Replies From Notifications & More

A new WhatsApp for Android update with support for quick replies via notifications is now available to select users. The new feature is only available in the latest version 2.12.560 which is currently available to beta testers who've signed up on Google Play.

WhatsApp for Android v2.12.560 is not available yet via the regular Google Play listing, or WhatsApp website. The new version lets users quick reply to messages right from the notification panel. Also new, is improved contextual options for contacts, and a new wallpaper selector.

After the update, users will see no difference in the notification alert when a message arrives. However, on expanding the specific notification bar, an option to 'Reply' will now be seen below the notification.

On tapping the 'Reply' option users would see a full screen quick reply overlay along with a dialogue box and keyboard at the bottom for typing out a reply. The quick reply feature sends the reply without opening the app. Users can also tap on the message to open the full conversation in the app. Notably, an update to the WhatsApp for iPhone (v2.12.16) available earlier this month added the ability to quick reply to in-app notifications.

WhatsApp is not the only app offering the quick reply to notifications feature as Google's Hangouts app also added the same feature in January.

WhatsApp for Android v2.12.560 brings a couple of other options as well (via Android Police). The improved contextual options for contacts are visible both in the Chats and Contacts tabs. Users can now tap on the profile picture or group image of any conversation to bring up contextual options, rather than long-tapping on the last message. Depending on the type of conversation or contact selected, users get corresponding contextual options. If users select multiple chats at once, they will only get contextual options that correspond to all the chats.

Finally, the wallpaper selector now features revamped icons, a new name for Documents (now called Gallery), and, a solid colour option.

WhatsApp for Android received an update earlier this month that brought text formatting, improved file sharing, and more. The update allowed users to format text inside messages as bold and italics. The update also allowed Android users to send pdf files not only from the device storage but from Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive accounts as well.

Google Acknowledges Vulnerability in Millions of Android Devices Promises Fix

Google Acknowledges Vulnerability in Millions of Android Devices; Promises Fix

Millions of Android smartphones and tablets are vulnerable to security attacks, Google has warned. The vulnerability, if exploited, gives an app unfettered root access, circumventing various Android security layers. The Mountain View-based company has made available a patch to OEMs, and says it is currently working on a fix for the Nexus lineup.
Security researchers spotted an app in the Google Play, Android's marquee app store, which tries to leverage the vulnerability. Android inherited the flaw from Linux years ago. Interestingly, Linux developers fixed the bug in 2014, and it was later on flagged as a vulnerability - identified as CVE-2015-1805 - early last year.
The vulnerability is present in all Android releases that are based on Linux kernel version 3.4, or 3.10, or 3.14. Android versions based on Linux kernel 3.18 or higher aren't affected, Google assures. Most Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based devices run on kinux Kernel v3.18, however, different OEMs often use different Linux kernel versions - thus, it is hard to correlate Android version with kernel version.
Google acknowledged the existence of the vulnerability in an advisory it sent last week. "An elevation of privilege vulnerability in the kernel could enable a local malicious application to execute arbitrary code in the kernel. This issue is rated as a critical severity due to the possibility of a local permanent device compromise and the device would possibly need to be repaired by re-flashing the operating system," the note reads.
Google didn't disclose the name of the app, though it noted that the offending app was available from Google Play as well as third-party sources, and Nexus 6 and Nexus 5 smartphones were affected. It also noted that it has published the patches for the flaw with OEMs, and also published them to the Android Open Source Project. It is up to manufacturers now how long they take before pushing the updates to their respective devices.

Twitter May Soon Get Option to Add Stickers to Photos

Twitter May Soon Include an Option to Add Stickers to Photos

Twitter is testing a new feature with limited users that will allow you to add stickers to photos before uploading.

Re/code's Kurt Wagner reported that Twitter may call the new feature "Stickers", but added that there are other names under consideration as well, such as Stamptags, Taptags, and Stickits.

The report added that more than the stickers in photos, Twitter will also let users see "how others from around the world have edited the same photo," and will also "suggest photos that you can edit and post to participate in trending conversations and breaking news."

A Twitter spokesperson told Re/code, "We're always researching potential new ways to make Twitter more expressive."

It's worth mentioning that Twitter will not be the first company to introduce an option to add stickers to photos as other services such as Facebook already allow users to add stickers while Snapchat lets users also add emojis to photos and videos. As of now, there is no word when the feature to add stickers to the photos will be available to all users.

The micro-blogging site recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. On the occasion, Twitter said that now there are 320 million users including various celebrities and also announced that the platform sees 500 million tweets per day and 200 billion tweets every year. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey also confirmed that the platform may never remove the 140-character limit as it is the feature offering "a unique identity" to the platform.

WhatsApp Latest Update Brings Bold & Italic Text Formatting

WhatsApp Update Brings Text Formatting, Improved File Sharing, and More

Download Latest Version: Here

We have already seen WhatsApp Messenger bringing numerous features to its app, from sharing of pdf files, a redesigned Settings page, to showing end-to-end encryption notification. Well, the Facebook-owned messaging application has now received a new set of features as a part of the version 2.12.535 for Android. In the meanwhile, the company has also rolled out an updated version of WhatsApp for iPhone, bring it to version v2.12.16.
The version at the time of writing is not available to download from the company website but is showing up as an OTA update on Google Play for beta testers (via Android Police). One can become a beta tester by visiting www.whatsapp.com/android. It is currently not available for iOS, regular Android users with app version number 2.12.510 or lower.
WhatsApp v2.12.535 for Android seems to be one of the major updates the app has received after document sharing. It now lets you format text inside messages as bold and italics. All you have to do is to put the text that you have to see as bold *inside asterisks* while typing and the phrase you need to italicise _between underscores_. The recipients can only see the text in bold and italics if they are on the same app version.
The text formatting is not only limited to messages but has reached to notification alerts as well. Users with the new WhatsApp version will see the name of the sender in bold inside the notification dropdown. In addition, if the sender has sent texts in bold or italics, it would show in the same format in the notification tray. Of course both parties should be on the same app version number 2.12.535.
whatsapp_update_gdrive_onedrive_file_share_ndtv.jpg
WhatsApp recently started letting us send and receive pdf files over chats. Now with the latest version, it lets Android users send pdf files not only from the device storage but from Google Drive andMicrosoft OneDrive accounts as well. As a bonus, you can also send Docs, Sheets, and Slides files from Google Drive but they will be converted into a pdf format automatically before being sent.
Finally, the WhatsApp update v2.12.535 like before will still block the complete app when the scheduled backup starts, but will now display a progress bar, giving users some idea as to when they can get back to the app.
All these changes will be welcomed by users, as they can now do much more inside the app. The app version will probably see a rollout over the air soon via Google Play and also become available on the company's site.
In the meanwhile, the updated WhatsApp for iPhone (v2.12.16) is available on the App Store, brings the ability to share pdf files from other apps, missed call notifications within chats, quick reply to in-app notifications, and the ability to save incoming media in contact or group info.

[LeTv]LeEco Le 2 Spotted in Leaked Images With Specifications | Reviewing Gadgets

LeEco May be busy rolling out the Le Max Pro, the world's first smartphone with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 SoC, in China. However, a set of leaked images have begun doing the rounds on the Internet claiming to show the Le 2 - said to be the successor to the Le 1s.
First posted by Mydrivers, the leaked LeEco Le 2 smartphone images purportedly show the smartphone from every angle. One of the biggest changes seen on the handset is the new LeEco branding at the rear panel which replaces the Letv logo. To recall, the Chinese Internet conglomerate Letv hadannounced that it re-branded the company name to LeEco in a move to focus towards entering different global markets. The front of the Le 2 seems to be identical to the Le 1s smartphone. The alleged successor also picks design cues for the speaker grille placement. The right side of the Le 2 in the image shows the volume rocker and power button placed in the same position as the Le 1s (Review).
The rear panel is the place where the handset looks to have all the changes as there is no round fingerprint scanner - instead it's now a square. As seen in the leaked images, the camera placement is again at the left top corner of the Le 2, similar to the Le 1s.
Some of the specifications details claimed by the Chinese publication include a Snapdragon 820 SoC or the MediaTek Helio X20 SoC under the hood. It will possibly pack massive 4GB of RAM compared to 3GB of RAM found on the Le 1s.
The fingerprint scanner has gained some improvements - claimed to be of "ultrasonic variety", which is not detailed in the report. The handset is again said to sport a USB Type-C port. We can expect to hear more about the LeEco Le 2 smartphone in future.
Last month, LeEco announced that the Le 1s smartphone would be available without registrations in India.

Leaked: HTC 10 Pics, Specifications & Launch Date Leaked

'HTC 10' Images, Specifications, and Launch Date Leaked

It is not a secret that HTC will soon be launching the successor to the One M9 in the market. The company has not yet revealed the launch date of the smartphone or anything else about the device except its shiny metal bezel in a teaser image. However, Internet has lately been flooded with leaks and rumours of the handset that don't seem to stop any time soon. Over the past couple of days a new set of leaks have hit the Web showing the press renders of the smartphone, live images, specifications, a possible launch date, and even a different naming scheme for the flagship handset - HTC 10.
Previously HTC unofficially confirmed the HTC One M10 moniker for the upcoming flagship smartphone. However, this might not be the case now. According to a popular tipster Evan Blass aka @evleaks, HTC will this time be ditching the 'One' and the prefix 'M' in the HTC One M10 and will be launching it with the moniker HTC 10. It should also be pointed out that HTC in its smartphone teasers has also not mentioned One M10 anywhere except a hashtag #powerof10 further cementing the rumoured HTC 10 moniker.
In the meanwhile, the HTC 10 moniker was also confirmed by another tipster @Onleaks along with some specifications and some live images showing the prototype smartphone from different angles. Blass riposted with a press render image (seen above) showing the HTC 10 from all angles. The images coming from both the tipsters are in line with each other, previous leaks, and the company's own teaser image.
The images, besides the broad chamfered edges, show the metal clad HTC 10 to sport a physical home button below the display along with two capacitive buttons for moving back and accessing multi window options. The slightly protruding rear camera with dual-LED flash is visible along with two antennas running at the top and bottom of the back panel. While there is a headphone jack at the top, the right side includes volume and power buttons. At the bottom, there is a mic, USB Type-C port, and a speaker grille. Other images in the tweet thread also hint at the HTC 10 to feature the company's Boomsound tech with Dolby Audio.
Also mentioned was the specifications of the HTC 10 along with the leaked live images. As per @Onleaks, the prototype HTC 10 model features a 5.15-inch QHD display; Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor; Adreno 530 GPU; 4GB of RAM; 12-megapixel rear camera (said to be the same as in Nexus 6P), and USB Type-C port. These specifications have already been rumoured in preliminary reports.
Blass in a separate tweet added that HTC 10 will be launching on April 19, the same date seen in the display of the smartphone in the render image. HTC is yet to announced the launch date of the handset and confirm its the smartphone specifications.
Further, Blass says HTC will not be making any Windows 10 Mobile variant of the HTC 10. HTC One (M8)was the company's last flagship to come in both Android and Windows Phone OS version.

WhatsApp For Android Will Now Show End-To-End Encryption Notification

WhatsApp for Android Now Shows End-to-End Encryption Notification, and More

WhatsApp is indeed working on giving its user base peace of mind. The latest build of WhatsApp for Android v2.12.500 comes with a number of features including showing users whether their messages are end-to-end encrypted, and it is also finally collapsing long messages. Some users are reporting that the above changes are only visible on v2.12.498, which can be downloaded from the APKMirror website.

The extremely popular instant messaging client was seemingly testing an option in January which allowed users to add an indicator to let them be aware whether their chats are encrypted. While indicator isn't precisely the same, the latest build of the messaging client, available to download via the company's site and the Google Play beta testing program, does bestow users with the following message, "messages you send to this chat are now end-to-end encrypted."

Additionally, users are also shown a similar message when sending a text message to a group. The feature as per Android Police reportedly is also working for users on versions between 2.12.493 and 2.12.500. For it to work, people on the recipient side are also likely to be on the latest build. WhatsApp's iOS client doesn't have this feature just yet.

WhatsApp now automatically collapses a message when it's too long. It's an interesting inclusion because it could make things look less cluttered, and it could also make it easier for you to check the following messages without scrolling through a string of too many characters. Additionally, it could also help WhatsApp circumvent glitches that make WhatsApp crash when somebody sends a message with more than a few thousand emoticons.

Facebook-owned instant message and voice client also seems to be working on bringing some tweaks to its user interface. One change is the inclusion of an Exit group icon, a feature that has been pulled from build 2.12.500, according to Android Police. The other addition is an option called Starred messages, that lets you scroll through all the messages you've starred in one place.

The highlight is certainly the end-to-end encryption message. To recall, in 2014, WhatsApp had partnered with Open Whisper Systems, a non-profit software group that develops collaborative open source projects to scramble messages with a cryptographic key to bolster privacy. In the same year, Open Whisper Systems noted that the end-to-end encryption had been implemented on WhatsApp's Android client.

The new variant of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 runs Qualcomm's Snapdragon 650 SoC, and Xiaomi claims it is the first smartphone in the country to do so. It will be available in Dark Grey, Champagne Gold, and Silver colours, and Xiaomi says the smartphone is its third 'Make in India' offering in the country.

Xiaomi says users can store up to 5 fingerprint profiles. Users will get a 2-month free subscription to Hungama. Xiaomi also announced that its recently unveiled Mi 5 flagship will launch in India in April.

Oppo's New Super VOOC Battery Technology Can Fully Charge Phone (0-100) in Just 15 Minutes

Smartphones are getting more powerful everyday, but Charging Time Remains Almost Same. Luckily for us,Oppo may have a solution. The Chinese company at the ongoing Mobile World Congress trade show unveiled its new battery technology dubbed Super VOOC Flash Charge, an upgrade over its VOOC Flash Charge technology. It can charge a 2500mAh battery from 0 to 100 percent in 15 minutes flat. The company also unveiled its SmartSensor image stabilisation which is meant to ensure that your photos aren't shaky.
The problem with Lithium-ion batteries, which have been powering smartphones for the last few years, is that they have seemingly hit their threshold and not much innovation has been seen around them lately. Smartphone companies realise that, and in the past couple of years, they have adopted various fast charging technologies, including Qualcomm's Quick Charge, to charge phones faster. But even Qualcomm Quick Charge isn't this fast.
Oppo says its Super VOOC battery technology can charge a smartphone battery in merely 15 minutes. The technology works with both Micro-USB and USB Type-C input peripherals. Super VOOC Flash Charge uses a 5V low-voltage pulse-charge algorithm that Oppo says ensures "a low-temperature charge that's safe for the battery". It dynamically regulates the current to charge the phone in the shortest time possible. The all-new algorithm pairs with a customised 'super battery', as well as a new adapter, cable and connector made using premium, military-grade materials.
The Chinese smartphone maker also said that Super VOOC Flash Charge is perfectly safe, allowing users to use the phone while it is charging (such as watching a video or playing a game, the company specifies, seemingly warning against making phone calls). It says other quick charge technologies don't recommend this usage scenario to users.
